Who Are We?
WESTFAC is a movement of sorts.  It exists as the product of hard work that began with a core group of Free Flight modelers from the San Diego Scale Staffel in 2005.  Under the leadership of Roger Willis, the first Western Regional event became a reality in 2007 with the FAC Southwestern Regional meet, held at the SCAMPS model flying site in Perris California.  This meet was attended by FAC Squadron members from Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Canada and England in addition to six California based Squadrons.

After the 2007 kickoff event, it was decided to rename the event to the Western Region Flying Aces (WESTFAC) to avoid conflict with an existing popular annual Free Flight event known as the Southwest Regionals.  Timing is set to allow the event to occur in the off year for the traditional FAC Nationals in Geneseo, N.Y.

The primary goal of the WESTFAC WORKING COMMITTEE is to give you the most FUN you ever had at a contest event, and we are working to make that happen.  FAC squadrons are working together to provide the focus needed to plan and execute this event on a bi-annual basis.  Individual support to meet this goal is encouraged and appreciated!  Contact any of the members below, and also review options on the Sponsors page.
